Members’ Prose Critique Group
May 7 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 3:00pm on Sunday, happening 10 times
Lead by Ari Bookman, the Hatchery prose critique group is a small group of Hatchery members who want to give and receive feedback on their unpublished work. We’ll meet every couple of weeks, reading two pieces per meeting to give each piece plenty of time, with an eye to getting the work ready to publish. There are no genre restrictions — you can bring fiction, non-fiction, journalism, memoir, YA or children’s books, treatments, or any other bit of prose you want to workshop. The goal is to create a committed team of engaged and attentive readers who can help each other become more polished, productive, and publishable.
About Ari Bookman
Ari Bookman is a Hatchery member with a Ph.D. in English from Northwestern University. He has published his academic writing in journals in the US, UK, and Kenya, and has taught writing and editing at Northwestern and elsewhere. Ari is currently working on a non-academic book about secularism and Jewish ritual life, and succeeding in his goal of moving to LA without writing a screenplay.
